As many of you may know, we love to travel. We also enjoy learning new things, pushing ourselves to grow, and meeting like-minded people. We find that attending conferences is a great way to combine all of these interests.
The rest of this year and well into 2020, we have an especially packed agenda of conferences and events. I’ll be going to Brave Enough this week, and after that, we’ve got lots of Tony Robbins conferences on the agenda, as well as White Coat Investor and Passive Income MD!
And we’re also excited to announce the dates for our next Zero to Freedom course launches!
We enjoy meeting our readers in person, so we share our schedule here in hopes that some of you will be able to attend some of these conferences with us. We’ve included links to the conferences that we know are still open for registration. None of these are affiliate links, we just really love these conferences! We share an updated version of this schedule every six months so.

Tony Robbins — Leadership Academy – Sept 30th-Oct 3rd

We’ll be back in San Diego this fall for Leadership Academy, a training program for people interested in gaining skills in the life-changing techniques that Tony Robbins practices when he helps people shift their mindset through interventions and public lectures. This conference will be a part of our year-long training in Tony Robbins-style coaching. We’ll be applying what we learn here (and in the four other leadership conferences) to our coaching clients to help them build their real estate portfolios!
Also, rumor has it that we’ll be chopping through wood with our hands… but we’ll just have to wait and find out!
Tony Robbins – Private Platinum Relationship Week – October 15th-20th

Even though Tony Robbins’ Relationship week is a private event for Platinum members only, I include it here in our conference series since I’m sure we’ll be writing a post for all of you reflecting what we learn in this conference.
Rumor has it that this is the best of all the Tony Robbins events besides maybe the private Financial event (see below). I’ve met people who say it’s completely revolutionized their 40+ year marriages. Rumor also has it you either come back with a better relationship or on the path to divorce.
To say the least, Kenji and I are really excited to spend a week making our marriage even better–and sharing the details of what we learn to help all of you too!
Passive Income MD – Financial Freedom through Investing in Real Estate – October 26th

Dr. Peter Kim of Passive Income MD is hosting his first conference in late October, focused on all things real estate. Topics include both syndications and the direct-ownership of rentals. Kenji and I will both be speaking in two different parts of the conference.
We already know many of you will be attending the conference and are really excited to meet many of you in person! We’ve also organized a private meet-up for just Semi-Retired MD readers. This will take place on October 27th–we’ll meet up for breakfast around 10 a.m. Location TBD, so be on the lookout for more details about that!
Tony Robbins – Unleash the Power Within – November 7th-10th
Miami, Florida
This will be our third Unleash the Power Within this year!!! Some of you may be wondering why we would haul ourselves and our kids to the same event three times in a year (not to mention the time away from working on this blog!). There are five reasons we’re going so frequently.
1. Going to any Tony Robbins event is like drinking through a firehose.
If we absorb 10-20% of the content, it actually leads to making significant changes. So, by extension, if we attend the event four times, we might get close to really integrating what we’ve learned.
2. We are different people each time we attend these events.
The truth is that we’re intensively working on improving ourselves and our businesses this year through this Tony Robbins experience as well as the other conferences we are attending, podcasts we listen to, etc… Therefore, as we change, different pieces of data that we’re exposed to at different times affects us differently. This means that even in the same event, we’re having different insights and making new changes.
3. We gain so much by being completely immersed in the culture of the event.
As Tony likes to say, if you want to learn a language, you’ll make more progress moving to Italy for a month, for example, than studying in a book for a year. The same goes for making life-changing decisions. Just being immersed in an event for 15+ hours a day leads to making progress by leaps and bounds in business and in life.
4. We gain opportunities for networking.
The major reason Kenji and I joined platinum this year was to network with individuals who are successful leaders in business, who will hold us to a different standard in our business performance. Each time we attend one of his events, we have a chance to catch up with old friends, here what they are doing, be accountable to them for what actions we’ve taken in our businesses and to meet new people, some of whom will be great resources for us going forward in our business as well as become lifelong friends.
5. We have a chance to introduce our friends and family to the Tony Robbins experience.
As some of you know, we bring friends with us each time we go to an Unleash the Power Within Event. In July, we brought my 16-year old step-daughter, and she loved it. We literally watched her just blossom with confidence during the event. We’ve also brought good friends, such as Elaine Stageberg, who have gained significant insights that they’ve applied to their businesses and lives. This time, we’ll be bringing Lauren Eng Weber, one of our Facebook moderators, to the event–and a number of our other friends will be tagging along using our discount code. We will end our conference tour this winter by attending Date with Destiny for the second time. It’s hands down one of Tony Robbins’ best conferences!
During Date with Destiny, you identify your purpose in life and rid yourself of limiting beliefs that are holding you back. It also has a section focused on improving personal relationships, which will be a great refresh after our October conference.

Tony Robbins — Business Mastery I – January 22nd-26th

In June 2019, I wrote two posts about everything we learned at Business Mastery II. (You can read part 1 here and part 2 here!) Business Mastery I is supposed to be just as packed with applicable business information.
Compared to Business Mastery II, the first installation has a greater focus on Tony interviewing speakers. Previous participants include Jay Abraham, Jenny Fleiss, Joe Gebbia, and Naomi Simson, and this year’s panel includes Keith Cunningham, David Meerman Scott, and Scott Klososky. You get to spend five days unlocking the secrets of business with Tony’s “7 Forces of Business Mastery” and learn how to tap into the skills and mindset of a successful business. There’s always something new to discover!
Tony Robbins – Private Platinum Financial Trip – February 8th-13th
Sun Valley, Idaho
The private platinum financial trip, is widely held as one of the best of Tony Robbins’ events. So much so that some of the successful platinum members pay for platinum each year JUST to go to this event. By that I mean, they don’t even attend any other events! Part of this is because of the speakers, which have included Tony Blair, Alan Greenspan and other accomplished behemoths of the financial world. Supposedly the financial crash of 2008 was predicted at that year’s Financial meeting and lead to people making changes in their portfolio, saving 10s of millions of dollars.
Even though this is a private event, I include it here because I know we’ll be updating our readers with what we learn from this event as well.
White Coat Investor — Physician Wellness and Financial Literacy Conference — March 11th-15th
Las Vegas, NV
This will be WCI’s second conference, focused on educating physicians and others who wear the white coat on all things financial. The conference will offer techniques on how to avoid physician burnout through increased financial literacy. WCI believes that the more financially stable a physician is, the less likely he or she is to burnout–so they’ll be covering everything from mindset to passive income streams!
I will be speaking at the event as well, specifically about direct ownership of real estate investments as a vehicle for financial freedom. The session is slotted for Saturday morning and is titled, “How to Achieve Financial Freedom Using Direct Real Estate Investing While Working as a Physician.” Can’t wait to see you there!

Tony Robbins – Date with Destiny and Date with Destiny Leadership – April 17th-24th
Gold Coast, Australia
This will be the third Date with Destiny for us in 12 months! Since DWD is focused on improving ourselves, re-arranging values and overcoming limiting beliefs, we know we’ll walk away from the event as better people.
We’ve met platinum members who have done this event 7+ times and have started to shift their focus to be on a theme of their life. For example, during one DWD they might focus on improving how they are personally approaching and handling their business. In another DWD they might focus on relationships. While we’re not sure how we’ll handle our third DWD, we’re confident we’ll walk away with significant insights and having made changes, even the third time around.
