Summary: Below are this month’s blog article (and podcast) picks from medical professionals around the web who, like us, have a passion for finance. From how to manage finances as a stay-at-home spouse to the power of belief to the ins and outs of real estate investment, here are our recommendations for further reading (and listening)!
Miss Bonnie MD (soon to be Wealthy Mom MD)
- Miss Bonnie MD, a dermatologist and wealthy mom financial blogger, recently wrote an article about the 5 ways to protect the finances of stay-at-home spouses. This insightful guide will surely help you and your spouse come together on solid financial ground. Oh! And, let us not forget my (Kenji here!) recent article about being a stay at home dad and making money from home. If you haven’t read it yet, you (or that special stay at home dad in your life) will love it.
Dr. Sunny Smith of Empowering Women Physicians
- Dr. Sunny Smith’s recent episode on her podcast Empowering Women Physicians explores the idea that if your thoughts become your beliefs, then in order to change your beliefs and alter the course of your life, you have to change your thinking. This is a great episode on the heels of our recent Tony Robbins’ trip. In one of our recent articles, we talk about limiting beliefs and how they hold you back from achieving your goals. We see this in new real estate investors all the time and this is why we launched our coaching program – to help people overcome their limiting beliefs and get started in real estate investing.
Dr. Peter Kim of Passive Income MD
- Dr. Peter Kim, anesthesiologist and author of the blog Passive Income MD, recently wrote a great article: “You Are The Average of The Five Physicians You Spend The Most Time With.” We believe this to be true. We’ve sought out people who are living big lives and achieving massive results. This is one of the main reasons we paid >$200,000 to surround ourselves with these types of people for one whole year.
Dr. D of The Frugal Physician
- We don’t talk much about frugality, but early on when we started, we cut back on Starbucks lattes when we realized we were spending about $6,000/year on our coffee addiction! Dr. D at The Frugal Physician gave us her take on buying vs. renting a house. The moral of the story: she recommends waiting to buy your attending house and only buy when you know you’ll be living in it for a while.
Millionaire Doc
- We focus on direct ownership real estate, such as buying and managing rentals, so leading syndications, being on the side that makes all the calls about what to buy, how to manage it and when to sell, is something we have been considering especially after the Best Ever Conference. Syndication is how you can use massive scale and other people’s money to create generational wealth. Millionaire Doc writes about the other side: the side of the passive investor and the potential downsides of being on the wrong side of the deal.
