As physicians, we took many courses and exams to get to where we are. But, it’s very possible that none of them included learning the components required for building your business. This week, our good friend and fellow physician blogger, podcaster, and course creator, Bonnie Koo, MD, joins us on the Rich Doc Poor Doc podcast to talk about building her business. We go past the obvious checklist of what it takes to build a business and dive deep into the “intangibles.”
For example, strategy is an important factor when it comes to business building. But, it will only get you so far if your mindset isn’t right. We discuss what comprises a great mindset to have while building your business, and Bonnie gives us insight on what she’s learned during what she cleverly calls her “residency in entrepreneurship.”
The main takeaway from today’s episode was the importance and necessity of investing in a coach, especially if you want to take your business far…and fast. She started her brand for the simple goal of educating women physicians on how to take control of their finances and has since expanded through creating courses and venturing into real estate investing, too. Her course, Money for Woman Physicians, could be part of your “entrepreneurship residency” for getting your money in order and taking control of your finances.
